1985's 'The Return of The Living Dead' remains one of my favourite zombie films of all time. The franchise went on to spawn several sequels, some better than others, and boasted some pretty impressive special 'FX' for it's time.
I have been fortunate to meet many of the cast of the film through conventions and has also corresponded with a few over the years. For me the film epitomised 1980's horror and 'horror comedy'. It was written by John A. Russo who was also behind the classic 'Night of The Living Dead' (1968).
The actors from the film are still a huge draw for fans at conventions all over the world. Who can forget 'Tarman'?..."Braaaaiiinnnnssss!"
I have been lucky to get hold of two special edition books associated with the series over the years (see below). I managed to get them signed by many of the cast and crew and those more elusive at UK conventions I managed to get them to sign me a bookplate to add to the book/s. I also received a lovely letter from actor James Karen not long before he passed away. James Karen appeared in both the first two films and was also of course in another classic horror 'Poltergeist' (1982). A very kind man and always very good with fans of the genre.
